La demande pour des avocats spécialisés en droit de la concurrence et propriété intellectuelle est en pleine expansion. En 2004, l'Université de Liège a créé un Master de spécialisation en droit européen (droit de la concurrence et propriété intellectuelle) afin de jeter des ponts entre les études juridiques et la demande croissante de praticiens spécialistes.
Adapté aux besoins de la profession, le Master en droit européen de la concurrence et de la propriété intellectuelle offre une formation pratique qui prépare les étudiants à entrer immédiatement sur le marché du travail international.
Outre un programme d'enseignement complet, offrant une formation pluridisciplinaire, le LL.M. met à la disposition des étudiants un large éventail de compétences et d'assistance (par exemple pour la rédaction de leur CV, l'obtention de stages et la publication de leurs travaux, ...).
Grâce à sa proximité avec Bruxelles et les institutions européennes, le programme bénéficie d'une équipe d'éminents praticiens et universitaires. Reflétant notre souci d'une approche pédagogique internationale, les cours sont dispensés en français et en anglais.

Nos anciens étudiants occupent aujourd'hui des postes d'avocats spécialisés, de fonctionnaires des autorités nationales et européennes de la concurrence, des autorités de propriété intellectuelle et de régulation, de consultants spécialisés et de chercheurs.
Faits et chiffres
Diverses réunions et séminaires sont organisés au cours de l'année académique pour aider les étudiants à améliorer leurs compétences professionnelles (rédaction de CV et de lettres de motivation, techniques d'entretien, etc.) et à se présenter à des praticiens du droit. Enfin, des opportunités de stages d'été dans des cabinets d'avocats et des institutions sont régulièrement proposées.
En plus de ces événements, notre base de données d'anciens étudiants est un atout majeur pour les étudiants diplômés, qui bénéficient d'un réseau de contacts utiles, au tout début de leur carrière.

La vie à la Faculté de Droit de l'Université de Liège
Fondée au XIXème siècle, l'Université de Liège (ULiege est une des plus grandes universités de Belgique et accueille environ 18.000 étudiants et 2.800 professeurs et chercheurs.
La ville de Liège est située en plein coeur de l'Europe. Sa gare offre un accès ferroviaire direct aux villes les plus importantes de l'Union européenne - Bruxelles (90 km), Anvers (120 km), Cologne (120 km), Luxembourg (140 km), Amsterdam (340 km), Paris (380 km) et Londres (430 km). Maastricht, quant à elle, est littéralement située à côté de Liège.
Le campus universitaire est situé à la périphérie de la ville. Se rendre au centre-ville est toutefois particulièrement simple, de nombreux bus faisant la navette pour une durée de trajet d'approximativement 15 minutes. Ainsi proche du centre et pourtant dans un environnement calme, le campus est l'endroit idéal pour toutes les activités académiques liégeoises.
Nos étudiants
Chaque année, le Master de spécialisation accueille un groupe comprenant 25 à 30 étudiants (nombre maximum d'étudiants acceptés annuellement). Un petit nombre permet l'organisation de séminaire de grande qualité suscitant émulation et synergie, permettant aux étudiants de se spécialiser tout en restant dans une atmosphère conviviale.
La majorité de nos étudiants sont originaires de Belgique et d'Europe de l'ouest. En outre, le Master de spécialisation accueille également des étudiants d'Europe de l'est, d'Amérique du sud et d'Asie.
StudyTrip
Chaque année, nos étudiants sont invités à visiter l'une des institutions européennes. Ce Study-Trip offre aux étudiants une opportunité unique de découvrir les coulisses de ces administrations. Durant le voyage, les étudiants sont accompagnés par un avocat familié de l'institution choisiée. Ils sont aussi invités à rencontrer de haut-fonctionnaires européens.
Le Study-Trip fait partie intégrante du programme académique.
Partenariat, évènements et conférences
Le LCII a établi un partenariat avec la revue en ligne e-Competitions. Grâce à celui-ci, les étudiants se voient offrir l'opportunité de co-écrire une note d'arrêt relative à une décision rendue en droit de la concurrence. Celle-ci est alors publiée à leur nom dans cette revue à portée internationale.
Les étudiants ont également l'opportunité de participé à plusieurs concours de plaidoirie. Il y a quelques années, notre équipe a remporté le prix des meilleures conclusions dans le cadre du Competition Law Moot Court organisé par le Collège d'Europe (Belgique). En 2010, une autre de nos équipe a remporté le Competition Law Moot Court organisé par Lamy publishing. En 2015, nous avons été sélectionné pour prendre par à la finale du EU Law Moot Court.
Chaque année, le LCII organise plusieurs conférence en droit européen de la concurrence et de la propriété intellectuelle auxquelles les étudiants sont associés. Opportunité leur est offerte de réseauter en présence de professionnels de ces deux disciplines.
