One of the core themes underlying the Institute’s research has always been the study of European Union economic law and more particularly competition law.
Multiple former members of the Institute contributed to its stellar reputation in this field. Over the past decade, Nicolas Petit's research on platforms, competition and innovation has enabled a focus on the intricate and ever-changing relationship between competition law and intellectual property law. That relationship continues to constitute the object of research within the Institute.
In addition, intellectual property law as such is studied in an increasingly European and competitive markets-oriented framework. Work is conducted on both patent law and copyright as well as trademark law. Those subjects also constitute key features of the LL.M. in EU law programme.
